On April 15, 2014, the Head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Investments and Enterprise Sergey Yevtushenko handed over to the five mayors of Ukraine’s cities – Lviv, the Ivano-Frankivsk region valleys, Slavuta Khmelnytsky region, Korostena Zhytomyr region and Kremenchug Poltava region – extracts from the registers of industrial parks. It is reported by the press service of the State Investment Project.

“During the 22 years of independence in Ukraine, there was not a decent investment infrastructure for doing business – industrial parks. Today, the first five such parks are already listed. We congratulate all representatives of local authorities who are the initiators of the creation of industrial sites, with their first effective steps and handing them extracts from the register “, – said S. Yevtushenko.

“The land with the necessary engineering and technical equipment will significantly reduce the investor” time to market “- from 2-3 years to 6-9 months. That is, industrial parks will create an attractive investment climate for investors, and state support will play an additional incentive for investment, “said the Head of the Agency.

He added that today countries and governments are competing for two things – investment and talent. The stakes are very high, Ukraine should be involved in global races.

According to the director of the investment policy and regional development department of the State Investment Project Vasyl Fedyuk, it is important for the investor to implement his investment project as soon as possible, so first of all he will choose the region where the industrial park is located. The availability of engineering infrastructure, transport accessibility and the number of potential employees are key criteria for investors.

“Over 5-7 years, thanks to the network of such parks, Ukraine will be able to attract about $ 8-10 billion of investment, create 80 thousand new jobs and significantly increase GDP”, – said V. Fedyuk.

During the presentations of five industrial parks, Lviv city mayor Andriy Sadovyi said: “Lviv is located 70 km from the EU border, and taking into account the signing of the association with the EU (I am sure it will be signed in full), the creation of the industrial park Ryasne II will open new benefits for Lviv – jobs, revenues to the city budget. According to the concept of the industrial park, we congratulate investors in the field of mechanical engineering and radio electronics, light industry, food industry and others. We already have all the necessary infrastructure and communications. We also count on the arrival of a new business culture, knowledge and technologies that will open up new opportunities for the development of local companies. ”

The event also included a round table with the participation of representatives of the Great Four companies (PwC), business associations (EBA, ACC, delegate of the German economy) and members of international financial institutions who discussed the prospects for the establishment of industrial parks, as well as the positive experience of other countries in This area.
