NABU anti-corruption bodies and SAP

Ukrainian Business Council (URB), which is an association of business associations created to consolidate business and implement socially important reforms for the sustainable economic development of the country, which includes 124 business associations, whose members are 27 thousand enterprises of various sectors of the economy,-Express to you their respect and treat with the following:
Fighting corruption and ensuring the rule of law since the revolution of dignity have been and remain key demands of society for power. It was the anti-corruption reforms implemented over 10 years that confirmed Ukraine's election of the European vector and a key factor in the accelerated European integration process (obtaining the status of a candidate, opening accession negotiations, adopting a negotiation framework and starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU).
Innovations of memory # 4555-ІХ (ROM # 12414), which limit the independence of the anti-corruption bodies of NABU and SAPO, threaten to disrupt the anti-corruption reform, lose the trust of key allies of Ukraine and civil society, international partners, and investors.and investors.
The adopted amendments to the legislation do not comply with Ukraine's obligations to the EU, European standards of the rule of law and principles EU directives 2017/1371 and of EU regulation 2020/2092 , which require effective and independent prosecution of corruption offenses, especially those related to EU funds. This creates the risk of freezing macro-financial assistance, slowing down EU accession negotiations, and losing the confidence of international partners and investors.
A business community working in war and reconstruction is critically dependent on the predictability of the legal environment, the rule of law, and the support of international financial organizations. The weakening of anti-corruption institutions threatens Ukraine's economic stability and reputation as a reliable partner.
Ukrainian business calls on you to take all necessary measures to restore the independent status of anti – corruption bodies (NABU and SAPO)-initiate an urgent review of Law No. 4555-IX and make changes that will restore the real institutional independence of NABU and SAPO, as well as take measures to properly implement the BEB reform as soon as possible, in accordance with Law No. 3840-IX.
