A number of Chinese companies within the framework of the national project “Industrial Parks of Ukraine” are considering investing in the construction of household appliances manufacturing plants on the territory of the industrial parks of the Odessa region. This was reported in the press service of the State Intelligence Project.
On May 20, the Head of the State Agency for Investment Project Sergey Yevtushenko and the President of the Chinese Business Association Alexander Gromyko discussed the details of the implementation of these Ukrainian-Chinese projects.
“Domestic production for Ukraine is now the most urgent problem, after eight years in a row imports of foreign goods exceed our exports. In 2013, the trade deficit was $ 13.652 billion. Undoubtedly, such a negative indicator poses a critical threat to the economic security of Ukraine,” said Yevtushenko.
According to the head of the Agency, China has been considering our country as a strategic partner for a long time. Therefore, after signing the long-awaited political section of the Association with the European Union, and later, as the first result of cooperation with the EU, the abolition of customs duties on Ukrainian goods, the leading countries of the world became interested in Ukraine as a potential platform for attracting investments and development of production. And one of the first in this list is China.
“The State Investment Project and its InvestUkraine unit as a mechanism for maintaining the investor at the administrative level will in every way promote Chinese companies in the construction of factories on the territory of Ukraine in the framework of the national project” Industrial Parks “, – added S. Yevtushenko.
The President of the Chinese Business Association noted that the dynamic development of the northern regions of China has led enterprises to start experiencing a sharp shortage of labor and the ability to intensively develop production in their territories.
“Chinese investors need three factors in placing their production – it’s access to the EU markets that we now have, the availability of relatively cheap labor and basic infrastructure on land industrial sites, which can quickly start the construction of factories,” said A.Gromika. – Besides, Chinese companies do not need state support in the form of state guarantees and other privileges. However, they are important for the lack of unnecessary bureaucratic procedures and support and promotion at the level of local authorities. ”
O. Gromyko also suggested holding a series of joint events with the Chinese business community, in particular in China, in order to present Ukraine’s investment opportunities to leading Chinese companies, as well as in Ukraine, in order to visibly offer these companies the industrial platforms for business development. Following the meeting, the Chinese Business Association and the State Intelligence Project agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.
